Minnesota Finding Its Game

Minnesota's Jekyll & Hyde ways seem to be taking a turn for the better as the team prepares to take on the Dubai Dynamite. Minnesota has gone 2 games unbeaten after a couple of strong outings against the Express (overtime win) and the Stallions (tie). Before those outings, Minnesota had big wings against some of the league's best - Dugouts, Corinths & Timberjacks, but lost in a heartbreaker to the Maniax 7-8. That game saw a ridiculous performance out of Maniax keep Alex Auld when he stopped 63 of 70 shots on goal.

So what has been the secret to Minnesota's newfound success? Fresh faces ... Minnesota was one of the league's worst teams through the first quarter of the
season hovering near the bottom of the league standings. A playoff team last season, Minnesota management made some aggressive moves to make things happen while not really giving up on the team's future. Minnesota wasn't afraid of bringing in a few veterans to help give the young club some leadership. Jamie Langenbrunner & Daymond Langkow have made huge contributions thus far and Sergei Samsonov will likely do the same moving forward. All 3 players are expected to make a contribution and play big minutes moving forward this season and onto next.

The Rink Rats are making a late season push towards a playoff spot being 1 point out at the time of this article. The team will rest goaltender Ryan Miller for their upcoming game against the Dynamite. Miller's numbers still aren't the MVP type caliber numbers he had last season, but the team remains optimistic that he'll get hot down the stretch.
