Minnesota on Verge of Elimination

The Rink Rats head back to Minnesota today after suffering a 4-2 loss to the Icedogs last night, putting the team on the brink of elimination. The Rink Rats will look to force a game 7 in their upcoming home contest.

The team, battling a few undisclosed injuries and fatigue, has recalled center David Krejci for game 6. Krejci played well in a brief call-up earlier this season scoring 3 goals and adding 2 assists in 8 games played. Last season Krejci was one of the top producers in the WFHL and has been playing well this season in Europe due to the strike shortened WFHL season. The team figures Krejci will be a top fixture next season but hopes that he can make an impact now as well.

"We're not sure what his role is going to be in game 6 but we do hope that he will be able to provide some added offense," stated Head Coach Barry Melrose. "We have a couple of guys who are having a tough time so David will get some ice time however we haven't decided how much yet. We need to continue to push these guys and grind out every shift. Ryan Miller will have to be on top of his game and we'll rely on our first two lines to score some goals for us again tonight."
